Madrid

Madrid is the capital city of Spain, and since the autumn of 2014 has been the city that I call home.

The panorama below was taken on the 21st of August (2018) from the Faro de la Moncloa, from which the most recognizable highlights are the Opera, the Royal Palace and, if you have a good eye, the Almudena Cathedral.

In many ways, Spain revolves around Madrid. However, the geographical center of the Iberian Peninsula is not quite there. It is on the Cerro de los Ángeles, some tens of kilometers south of Madrid. Being a mountain (that's what Cerro means in Spanish), isolated in the central tableland of Spain and so close to its capital, the Cerro de los Ángeles is a vantage point over Madrid. The panorama below, taken on the 24th fo August (2018), shows a different perspective of the city.
