Bogotá

Bogotá is Colombia's capital and it is the third highest capital city in South America (only below La Paz and Quito). It used to be my city (although now I wonder if it was ever mine), where I grew up and went to the Uni. I left the city (and the country) almost five years ago, and now both of them feel completely foreign to me.

The city sits on top of the Andes and it is surrounded by mountains that the locals call the eastern hills, which on a sunny day reveal the beauty of the tropic (albeit at 2600 m over sea level). The panorama below was taken on the terrace of Gran Estación on the 16th of December, 2018. There, the historic center lies on the far right, my alma mater near the center of the picture and the full extension of the city leftwards.
