Ironbridge
Ironbridge is a small town nearby Telford, and it houses one of the first castiron bridges of England. The region is filled with coal and other minerals, and it is also washed by the Severn River, which flows from Snowdonia in Northern Wales and joins the sea on the Bristol channel (former Severn sea). Thus Ironbridge became the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, and since 1986 it is a UNESCO site. In the panorama below the iron bridge is on the right (although it has been in restoration for over a year, so it is scaffolded), while the city is displayed across the picture.
